Last year, before the merger of Banks Hoggins O’Shea and Foote Cone & Belding, both agencies pitched to work on the account for Australian clothing company RM Williams.

The company specialises in handmade boots, sold at its Regent Street flagship store.

RM Williams UK manager Sally Meredith was apparently having great difficult choosing between the agencies’ presentations until their merger solved the problem.

And Banks Hoggins O’Shea/FCB was so keen to work on the account that it agreed to be paid in clothing vouchers. According to RM Williams, agency staff have been avidly cashing in the vouchers for the handcrafted boots ever since.
