New Media Marketing & Sales has won the online ad sales account for Teamtalk (www.teamtalk.com), adding to its portfolio of sports-related sites. The Teamtalk site claims to generate 5.1 million page impressions a month, and attracted 1.8 million user sessions in March.

Greg Crockart, formerly senior account manager at AKQA on the BMW and Land Rover accounts, has joined Hyperlink as marketing account manager. Crockart takes command of the online marketing activities of Autobytel (www.autobytel.co.uk), in addition to handling Web strategies for other Hyperlink clients, such as Goldfish.

beeb.com, the commercial venture between BBC Worldwide and ICL, achieved 8.68 million page impressions during March, generated from 402,863 users, according to the latest ABC//electronic audit. The previous certificate for the site, which targets entertainment and leisure services, logged 4.43 million page impressions and 280,210 users during October last year.

Ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell’s debut solo single “Look at Me” has been supported by what is claimed to be the UK’s first digital audio postcard, through music site dotmusic (www.dotmusic.com). Chris Sice, commercial manager at dotmusic, says the roll out of digital audio postcards in the UK will allow record companies to alert fans to new releases and provide them with audio samples.

What Car? magazine’s Website (www.whatcar.co.uk) has recorded 2.25 million page impressions during January, according to a new audit by ABC//electronic.

Candle, the software management company, is launching Website monitor eBA*ServiceMonitor this week. The new scheme enables Web managers to improve their services to visitors by showing how long it takes to access and navigate pages on their site. The product logs how long the server takes to present Web pages to visitors in real-time, helping to avoid lengthy download times.

Oxfam has extended its online fundraising drive to help victims of the Kosovo crisis by extending its banner ad campaign with a “cold call” e-mail push among potential donors. The charity is targeting 10,000 people from e-mail addresses provided free by BT and AutoTrader, which are being asked to pass on the appeal to people they know. The charity is working with direct marketing agency WWAV West on the campaign.

AOL, the world’s biggest online service provider, is facing a backlash from disillusioned volunteers who claim the company is unfairly profiting from their efforts in helping maintain sections of its online service. Disgruntled members of its volunteer programme, which offers free subscription in return for a set number of hours spent helping out on the service, are trying to get the US Labour Department to investigate AOL’s practices.
