DMB&B scoops 2m UK investment brief

UK investment consultant Nelson Money Managers has appointed an advertising agency for the first time, awarding DMB&B Financial its 2m account after a pitch against Camp Chipperfield Hill Murray.

DMB&B sister agency MediaVest has been appointed to handle media for the campaign. It breaks in May and will use press, posters and radio.

Nelson typically puts together investment portfolios for people who have recently retired and received a windfall but have little investment experience. Most of its business comes from visits to employees about to retire from companies such as Marks & Spencer and ICI.

The campaign will promote Nelson’s investment management service directly to the public for the first time.

David Hanratty, investment planning director at Nelson, says: “The UK population is more financially aware than it used to be. We believe this has created a group of potential investors who aren’t being adequately catered for and who we want to reach. Research from Merril Lynch shows there are now 4 million people with over 50,000 investible capital.”

DMB&B Financial will also create a Website and a corporate identity for Nelson, which will draw on the values of Britishness and heroism epitomised by Admiral Lord Nelson.
