EMAP Radio promotes Turner to On Air role

EMAP Radio has promoted Adam Turner to the new position of business director for music at EMAP On Air.

Turner’s primary role will be to develop commercial opportunities between UK record companies and EMAP’s radio division. He will also have the remit to investigate opportunities across other parts of the parent group’s business, such as the magazine division. Turner will report to EMAP On Air managing director Tom Toumazis.

Turner says: “In a big media group like this a lot of our business relies on our relations with record companies. We will look for new opportunities between records, radio, magazines and the Internet.”

Turner was previously commercial director for EMAP’s flagship radio station Kiss 100. Prior to EMAP, Turner worked for a short time in the marketing department of video company VCI.

Before that, he was the TV marketing manager for record company EMI, where he specialised in producing compilation albums.

In a separate move at EMAP Radio, Mark Hassall has been promoted to the role of commercial director for Magic 105.4 FM and Kiss 100. He was previously commercial director solely for Magic 105.4 FM.
