Press Holdings has appointed Michael Jones as deputy chairman of Scotsman Holdings, Steven Walker as managing director and Ailsa Crossley as assistant managing director. The Gas Station, a new means of advertising via LCD TV screens on petrol pumps has launched itself with a deal covering Granada’s 35 motorway sites. The station is run by On-Line Creative Media, a joint venture between advertising agency Curio and satellite communication company Strident. Virgin Atlantic Airways is to sponsor Crystal Palace Football Club’s tour of China this summer. World Soccer, owned by IPC Music & Sport, has produced an issue with a covermounted book called Ajax Barcelona Cruyff. The Audit Bureau of Circulations has released a new certificate for Bulk Distribution Publications under the ABC brand. Associated Newspaper’s free daily Metro is the first publication to sign up to the new category. Your Garden magazine, owned by IPC Country & Leisure Media, has appointed Adrienne Wild, former editor-in-chief of EMAP’s gardening titles, as editor. Citrus, a customer publishing agency, has apppointed Mark Winthrop, ad manager for Redwood Publishing’s Sky Digital TV Guide, to the new position of advertising director.
