Clear Channel Communications seeks boss for global Adshel brand

Outdoor contractor Clear Channel Communications is looking for a managing director for the international development of its global bus shelter brand Adshel.

The appointee would take a co-ordinating role within the group, helping to put together bids for street furniture contracts in foreign cities.

He or she will be paid a six-figure package to work within a new central operation called Adshel Consulting, with the additional brief of advising other companies on street furniture development and maintenance, and on creating advertising revenue.

Vincent Slevin, executive chairman of Adshel, says: “We are a pretty decentralised group. But sometimes these bids happen in markets where the centre needs to pull together to help the team on the ground, or where the group may not be established. There are opportunities for growth in the US and South America.”

Meanwhile, More Group, the street furniture division of Clear Channel, has taken over Italy’s biggest street furniture company Jolly Pubblicita, with an option to increase its stake in the longer term. A total of 51 per cent of the share capital was acquired from the company’s founders, the Celentano family, who will continue to run the business.

Jonathan Bass, development director of More Group, says: “We have been seeking a route into the Italian market for some time and this is an ideal opportunity.”
