KLM UK hunts agency for £6m task

KLM UK, the former Air UK which was bought by the Dutch airline last year, is reviewing its &£6m advertising account, and has spoken to a number of agencies.

The airline uses Smith Bundy Carlson, part of Carlson Marketing Group, for its brand and direct response advertising and direct marketing. The direct marketing element of the account is not up for grabs.

KLM UK marketing communications manager David Smith, says: “This is part of an annual appraisal. We are just reviewing the advertising, and are still going through discussions with agencies.”

A number of top agencies are reported to be in discussions with KLM, but Smith refuses to name them.

KLM UK flies from 19 UK airports to Amsterdam’s Skipol airport, where flights connect with KLM services and those of its partner, North West Airlines. In the UK, KLM also flies domestically and runs some services from UK cities to European cities, such as Paris and Milan.
