Marketing Week backs ETB marketing in tourism award
Marketing Week has teamed up with the English Tourist Board to create an award showcasing marketing achievement within the UK tourism industry.
The new Marketing in Tourism Award will form part of the ETB’s long-established and respected annual England for Excellence scheme. Other award categories cover areas such as visitor attractions, hotels, bed and breakfast establishments, training, customer service (rewarding individual effort), green transport, tour operators and travel agents. There is also a “tourism for all” category, which rewards good logistics and physical accessibility.
ETB acting chief executive Elaine Noble says: “When people see one of our winners, they can be sure that the establishment has been tried and tested by some of the most demanding inspectors around.”
The awards are sponsored by the Telegraph Group, Country Holidays, GNER and Travel GBI, as well as Marketing Week.
Stuart Smith, editor of Marketing Week, says: “This is an area sometimes overlooked in other marketing industry awards – undeservedly so.”
The closing date for nominations in the marketing for tourism category is Friday October 10. All other categories close July 30. Finalists will be announced mid-October. An awards luncheon will be held at the London Savoy on Wednesday November 3.
