Flextech boss Webb moves to brand role

Flextech marketing director Jonathan Webb has swapped his role within the cable company to become more involved with programming and the on-air look of the network’s channels.

He moves into the new position of director of brand development. The role will comprise commissioning, searching for special event programming, and negotiating masthead programming projects.

Webb was recently involved in discussions with Attic Futura and IPC which have led to the respective masthead shows Sugar’s Real Life Stories and Chat Moral Dilemmas.

The move is being seen as an attempt to give the recently appointed senior vice-president of marketing Mike Smallwood more control of the networks, while retaining Webb’s services.

Webb says: “I will look for events and programmes that will add sizzle to the identity of the stations.”

He will work across Flextech’s four channels, Living, Bravo, Trouble, and Challenge TV, and will continue to report to senior vice- president Lis Howell.
