Welsh business group launches agency hunt
The Welsh Development Agency (WDA), which helps business expansion within the country, is looking for an advertising agency for its &£1m account.
The WDA has put the account, covering advertising, marketing and design services for Wales and the UK, out to tender in the Official Journal of the European Union.
The creative account for the part Government-funded body is held by Mustoe Merriman Herring Levy, which devised the WDA’s “Best business climate in Europe” theme. Booth Lockett Makin handles the media account.
The appointed agency will deliver business-to-business communication – including advertising, direct mail and exhibitions. The work will cover WDA initiatives such as Source Wales, which identifies supplier opportunities, and Technology Transfer, which creates links between university research and manufacturers.
The tender asks for an agency capable of producing work in English and Welsh, with an understanding of urban and rural issues.
Requests for information regarding the account are to be made before August 8 and the deadline for receipt of tenders is September 10. WDA head of marketing Julie Hudson will conduct the pitch.
Cardiff-based WDA is responsible to the National Assembly for Wales and helps small-to-medium-sized businesses expand through inward investment, European relations, industry relocation and job creation.
