£7m Peugeot task to stay with McCann

Peugeot Motor Company has retained McCann-Erickson Manchester for its £7m UK car dealership account.

Peugeot Motor Company has retained McCann-Erickson Manchester for its &£7m UK car dealership account.

A decision was made this week, after a pitch involving a number of advertising agencies through the AAR. The review is part of a standard internal procedure and McCann was invited to repitch.

The work involves regional advertising to support dealers. It does not affect any of the Peugeot accounts held by EURO RSCG Wnek Gosper. Regional media planning and buying will remain with Universal McCann.

A Peugeot spokeswoman says: “The decision was made to reinstate McCann-Erickson Manchester. Their ideas for the future won them the work.”

The manufacturing and purchasing operations within the Peugeot-Citroen Group in France are being restructured by Jean-Martin Folz, the new head of the group.

This seems to have eroded the autonomy of Peugeot UK, and managing director Richard Parham resigned recently as a result. However, Peugeot’s UK marketing structure seems to have survived unscathed so far.
