H-P promotes marketer to Internet role
Hewlett-Packard, the world’s second largest computer company after IBM, has promoted UK marketing manager Steve Muddiman to European Internet marketing manager.
Muddiman’s remit in this new post will be to extend Hewlett-Packard’s e-services across the European, Middle Eastern and African region (EMEA).
Becky Carroll, former support services marketing manager, will replace Muddiman as UK marketing manager. Muddiman will report to European marketing manager Peter van der Fluit.
The move is part of a company restructure, which involves the company breaking away from its traditional markets. As well as non-computer operations like medical equipment, Hewlett-Packard’s chairman and chief executive officer Lewis Platt is reshaping the company as an Internet specialist.
Hewlett-Packard’s most recent marketing activity was a &£2m TV ad campaign in June to support the H-P CD Writer, which allows people to copy their own music onto CDs.
