LH-S beats two rivals to hold £3.4m Frutibix

Lowe Howard-Spink has retained Weetabix’s £3.4m Frutibix account after a pitch against two agencies on the breakfast cereal manufacturer’s roster.

LH-S, which has handled Frutibix since its launch two years ago, pitched against Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, which handles Alpen, and Banks Hoggins O’Shea/ FCB, which holds the Weetaflakes and Weetabix Advantage accounts. It went through two rounds of presentations before being told it had retained the business.

Industry insiders say a review was called because of Frutibix’s disappointing recent performance.

LH-S managing director Paul Hammersley refused to comment on the review.

Frutibix is the first extension of the Weetabix brand, handled by LH-S for nine years.

Weetabix spends more than £15m a year on advertising.
