Horticultural society holds four-way pitch

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is holding a four-way pitch for its £500,000 ad and media account, which includes the world’s biggest flower show at Hampton Court Palace.

The RHS, which also organises the Chelsea Flower Show, has split with incumbent Cardiff agency Golley Slater, which handled the account for five years. Golley Slater is not repitching.

The BBC Gardener’s World Live Show business, jointly administered by the RHS, its partner Haymarket Magazines and the BBC, is also being reviewed, although a shortlist has yet to be drawn up.

Sue Coleman, RHS marketing manager, says: “The account includes above- and below-the-line marketing and media buying. It covers Hampton Court Palace, our new show at Tatton Park, and some creative work for the Chelsea Flower Show. We have briefed a group of agencies, which are coming back to us.”

Media buying was previously handled by MBS, but the RHS is considering appointing a separate media agency.
