More faces court threat for ‘unsafe’ bra poster

Media agency BJK&E is threatening to sue the More Group unless it pays compensation after failing to deliver a giant billboard of Kelly Brook modelling a Triumph bra.Triumph is one of BJK&E’s clients.

The massive poster, measuring 35 metres by 15 metres, was due to have gone up on scaffolding in Holborn, London, for four weeks but health and safety officials ruled against it.

The billboard of Brook in one of Triumph’s new Flaunt bras was to have been the centrepiece of a multimedia advertising campaign, including radio spots and press ads.

Journalists and photographers had been invited to a press call, but the day before the launch it emerged that the poster would not be permitted.

Former Big Breakfast presenter Brook had to be photographed at the launch holding only a photograph of what the ad would have looked like.

The poster has since been built on the Cromwell Road in West London.

BJK&E managing director Mark Patterson says: “The More Group did not deliver on what it promised. It was naive and unaware of the issues involved. There is every possibility of legal action if the level of compensation it offers is unacceptable to my client.”

More Group managing director Peter Smyth says: “This is a real storm in a teacup. It has been blown out of all proportion.

“It was a very unfortunate occurrence but unforeseen. We went to great lengths to find an alternative site.”
