Some advice for Ingram on how to deal with king of the agency jungle

The Diary couldn’t help notice this little gem from Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, which could have been tailor-made for Tempus founder and chief executive Chris Ingram.

Could the stalking lion be a metaphor for the Napoleonic Martin Sorrell, who at the last count was the largest shareholder in Tempus?

The copy couldn’t be more appropriate: “Is he trying to buy the company for less than it’s worth? Will he restrict your autonomy? Change your strategy? Drain your strengths?”

The Diary can’t help but think Ingram would have the last laugh. The agency’s share price has reached heady heights this year on the back of takeover talk.
