Web specialist hunts agency for £3m task

Web consultancy Linksfield Technologies is understood to be looking for an agency to handle its &£3m advertising account.

Linksfield, run by South African brothers Larry and Jonathan Shapiro and based in London’s West End, is understood to have seen presentations from Ogilvy & Mather, J Walter Thompson and Leo Burnett.

The business offers blue-chip retailers, finance and insurance companies a range of consultancy and research services, including assessing and evaluating Internet technologies.

The company allows clients to bill customers electronically through secure Websites – a process which leads to major cost savings. It is an “emerging killer application for the Net,” according to Linksfield’s corporate Website.

Linksfield also sells software produced by Eastman Software, a Kodak-owned business, which enables companies automatically to store, index and retrieve computer-generated reports (such as payroll slips, invoices, purchase orders and shipping notes) in electronic form.

The process offers cost and efficiency benefits over reports stored on paper or microfiche.
