ETC reveals marketing in tourism shortlist

The English Tourism Council (ETC) has announced the shortlist for the marketing in tourism award sponsored by Marketing Week.

The award is one of 16 given out by the organisation annually. Winners will be announced on November 3.

Leeds Clubbing Breaks, an initiative by Leeds City Council designed to attract clubbers to the city for a weekend, has made it to the final shortlist of three.

The World of James Herriott, a centre devoted to the Yorkshire-based vet and activity holiday specialist Activities Nationwide are also on the list.

ETC chairman Alan Britten says: “The hallmark of excellence is quality. In England we are blessed with a fantastic tourism product and it is to highlight the quality of our many national treasures that we run the annual England for Excellence Awards.”

The annual awards are run by the ETC in partnership with England’s ten regional tourist boards. Its aim is to act as a showcase for best practice and help raise quality standards in the tourism industry.

This year’s England for Excellence Awards are sponsored by GNER, Country Holidays, Travel GBI, The Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Telegraph and Marketing Week.
