Trucks to deliver moving message for outdoor ads

We’ve had giant building wraps, enormous photographs of Kelly Brook’s bosoms disallowed for health and safety reasons, Gail Porter projected naked on to the Houses of Parliament, and bus Mega Rears. What can the outdoor advertising industry possibly come up with next?

Truck Sides, that’s what. Mobile Outdoor Media has enlisted 1,000 lorries to bear computer-imaged ads. The idea, unsurprisingly, comes from the US.

Participating trucks are fitted with a unit which measures the route and mileage during the period of the advertising space contract. Honda has already signed up.

The Diary’s suggestion for Mobile Outdoor Media’s next innovation is Commuter Sides. Advertisers pay commuters to wear sandwich boards or similar signs en route to work, thus capturing the attention of potential consumers on tubes, buses and railways. Your heard it here first.
