Footy stars who don’t shine on film

New additions to the long line of football stars taking part in ill-judged fashion photo-shoots include Gary Neville and Nicky Butt.

Following hot on the heels of Tony Adams, Tim Sherwood and Martin Keown – who modelled for men’s clothing chain Burton, as revealed by the Diary in September – the two Manchester United stars have been caught posing for sports brand Diadora.

However, Neville is not generally rated as the pick of his team’s crop when it comes to looking lovely, especially compared with best-mate, bedroom pin-up and poseur extraordinaire David Beckham. With just a couple more players caught modelling, Man Utd could turn its team calendar into a men’s clothing catalogue . Let’s just hope Neville won’t be picked for the underwear section; Butt would be far more appropriate.
