IPC Electric appoints operations director

IPC Electric, IPC Magazine’s newly-created Internet and e-commerce business backed by a £26m investment from the City, has appointed Kevin Kerrigan as operations director.

Kerrigan returns to IPC after two years working for the Pan European Publishing Company – part of Reed Elsevier Business Information in Belgium. After joining PEPC as new media director responsible for achieving a Net presence for its business-to-business titles in hi-tech markets, Kerrigan was promoted to sales and marketing director.

He joined IPC in 1993 as sales controller of Innovator and was instrumental in establishing the company’s branded loose inserts division. Kerrigan rose to become sales director of Innovator in 1995.

He will report to IPC Electric managing director Rene Carayol.

Carayol says: “Kerrigan has an excellent reputation and track record for delivering. His Net experience will be invaluable in the continuing development of IPC Electric’s Net activity.”

IPC Electric was launched in September and is scheduled to set up a Net portal venture aimed at women – working title The Women’s Network – at the end of the year.

In August, IPC appointed former Freemans general manager Lucie Scott as marketing director of IPC Electric (MW August 5)

Delaney Lund Knox Warren has been appointed to handle IPC Electric’s ads. The agency is also responsible for IPCtx – IPC’s TV weeklies group.
