Red in the face about Norm dig

I found the piece in last week’s Diary, commenting on the likeness between “Norm”, of Twix advertising fame, and BT’s Tim Evans (“Norm from Mars sighted by BT staff”, MW November 4), to be offensive and very probably libellous.

I am uniquely placed to comment – having been involved in Norm’s creation, and now having the honour of being Tim’s boss – and I can safely say that pigeon-holing the two of them as “greyish-hued geeks” does a great disservice to someone with bundles of personality and a wonderful sense of humour.

For that matter, it’s not very fair on Tim, either.
