Mann leaves Coke to rejoin Schweppes

Former Cadbury Schweppes UK marketing director Andrew Mann, who joined Coca-Cola in the wake of its $1.85bn (&£1.1bn) acquisition of the Schweppes soft drink brands, is returning to Cadbury Schweppes as global manager for Canada Dry.

A spokeswoman for Coca-Cola claims all other brand managers who transferred from Cadbury Schweppes have accepted jobs at the US soft drinks giant.

Mann reported to Coca-Cola UK consumer marketing director Andrew Harrison.

The deal included brands such as Oasis, Dr Pepper, Crush, Canada Dry and Schweppes branded mixers, in all markets except the US, South Africa and France.

When the acquisition was first announced, Coca-Cola said all 450 Schweppes staff would be offered jobs. Coca-Cola chief executive Douglas Ivester said: “We look forward to welcoming Cadbury Schweppes employees to the Coke family.”

The Coca-Cola spokeswoman claims that Mann was on secondment to the company only until the end of this year.
