Coty shakes up senior management

Coty has sent its two London-based senior marketers responsible for fragrances and colour cosmetics to the US. It is combining their responsibilities in the enhanced position of UK marketing director.

Coty’s former European marketing director David Allan has been appointed marketing director for Coty UK, with responsibility for both colour cosmetics and fragrance/toiletries.

Coty senior vice-president for colour cosmetics Anastasia Ayala is to return to Coty USA to head the fragrance marketing team for global brands.

Ayala was responsible for advertising, marketing and product development for Rimmel Global and Cutex Europe. From London, she headed a global team charged with co-ordinating Rimmel’s worldwide expansion. The brand is to launch in US Wal-Mart stores in March.

Michael Simpson, Coty UK marketing director for fragrances, is also returning to the US. The company was unable to confirm his new job title as Marketing Week went to press.

The marketing teams for both fragrance and colour cosmetics will now report directly to Allan.
