IPC Electric managing director Réne Carayol has left just four months after the £25m venture’s launch.

IPC Electric operations director Kevin Kerrigan takes over Carayol’s position.

Carayol joined IPC Magazines in 1995 as IT director, having previously working for Pizza Hut and Marks & Spencer.

Kerrigan rejoined IPC Magazines in November last year. He was previously sales and marketing director for the Pan European Publishing Company – part of Reed Elsevier Business Information in Belgium.

Before that, he was sales director of IPC’s Innovator division, establishing the branded direct response sales operation.

Sly Bailey, chief executive of IPC Magazines and chairman of IPC Electric, says: “Kerrigan’s role is central to IPC’s plans to build the definitive digital business.”

IPC Electric was launched as an electronic publishing division in September to exploit Net opportunities for the company’s magazines, such as Loaded and Marie Claire, and to act as a platform to drive e-commerce.

In December, IPC Electric launched its TV listings site, unmissable tv.

IPC Electric’s online Website for women, Beme.com, will go live in the spring. The launch will be supported by sponsorship of Channel 4’s Ally McBeal series.
