Prudential brand chief resigns

Prudential Retail head of brands Stephanie Campbell has resigned with no job to go to, just nine months after joining from Royal & Sun Alliance.

Campbell was responsible for developing the Prudential brand and oversaw advertising, design, sponsorship and events.

She reported to Frank Wilson, marketing director of Prudential Retail, the division responsible for marketing Pru-branded products.

The head of brands role was created last year just before a major restructure of Prudential’s marketing operation, in which 50 of its 125 jobs were axed.

Wilson says the head of brands role expanded as a result of the restructure to include more administrative responsibility for Pru’s advertising campaigns.

He adds: “The job didn’t turn out quite as Stephanie had expected and we agreed to part company. We are now looking internally and externally for a replacement, who could work under the new title of marketing services director.”

Prudential Retail is also looking for a head of e-commerce (MW February 3) to work in the newly created business development division, set up to develop e-commerce and telephony strategies.

The business development division is headed by Clare Chandler, who was promoted from her position as Prudential human resources director.
