Mail on Sunday ad chief promoted to top role at Evening Standard

The Mail on Sunday’s advertisement director Sally de la Bedoyere has been promoted to managing director of Associated Newspapers’ Evening Standard, following the announcement that the previous incumbent Kevin Beatty is to head the publishers new media arm.

Beatty replaces Martin Dunn as managing director of Associated New Media. Dunn will set up an Internet-related company funded by Associated’s holding company Daily Mail & General Trust group (DMGT).

Metro deputy managing director Mike Anderson becomes managing director and will take on full responsibility for the free title from Beatty.

Evening Standard advertisement director Sue Dear will take on Bedoyere’s role at the Mail on Sunday, reuniting her with Mike Ironside, managing director of the Mail on Sunday and former Standard managing director

The new company headed by Dunn, will be called Front of Mind. It will concentrate on developing services for digital TV, mobile phones and the Net.

Dunn says: “The company will develop new concepts for Net, mobile phones and digital TV and take them to the point of launch when DMGT will consider financing them wholly or partly.

“We will also be talking to the various technological companies about their requirements.”
