Griffin Bacal has been handed Lancashire Dairies’ &£2m advertising account after a four-way pitch.
The agency – the first to be appointed by Lancashire Dairies – will promote the Superlife flavoured milk brand and other products to be launched later this year.
Griffin Bacal is to create a TV campaign, in addition to handling media.
Lancashire Dairies managing director Paul Kearns says: “Griffin Bacal was selected because of its highly entrepreneurial approach and strategic insight into our market.
“We are taking advantage of the growth of flavoured milks and smoothies to expand our market share and introduce new products.”
Jonathan Hoare, managing director of Griffin Bacal, says: “This is a rare opportunity to make a real difference to a company that is investing a sizeable chunk of money in brand marketing.”
Meanwhile, Manchester-based Lancashire Dairies has appointed David Girdler as sales and marketing director.
Girdler, who reports to Kearns, was previously sales and marketing director at Hibernia Brands – manufacturer of Mr Brains Faggotts and Entenmann’s Cakes.
The &£1m Entenmann’s account has been won by Roose & Partners after a pitch against four other agencies including J Walter Thompson and McCann-Erickson.
JWT handled the Entenmann’s brand before it was sold to Hibernia by Kraft Jacobs Suchard last year.
