£15m coupons online task goes to The Hub

New media agency The Hub has won a £15m contract for online coupons site Coupons Now, the first coupons website to launch in the UK.

The agency has been appointed to handle a three-year campaign for Coupons Now (www.couponsnow.co.uk), a website which allows registered users to download discount coupons which they can redeem in retailers’ stores.

Coupons Now has signed deals with KwikFit, Early Learning Centre, SupaSnaps, Specsavers, Fitness First and Radisson Edwardian hotels to offer discounts for the launch next month.

For the first three months, consumers can access the site through Granada TV’s website G-Wizz.

A new campaign, created by The Hub, will run on TV, press, outdoor and Internet banner ads to back the launch. The company says campaigns will have a local focus with ads tailored for individual regions.

Online coupons are a new concept in the UK but are already a big hit in the US. According to NPD Online, 40 million Americans used an Internet coupon in December 1999. Two of the top ten Internet shopping sites in the US are coupon sites.
