So Virgin likes to promote itself as the underdog to win market share, and has been successful in many areas. WAP is all the rage at the moment, and I selected Virgin’s Siemens S25 on the basis that Virgin promotes this phone on its website and printed material as WAP-enabled.
However, I now discover that I won’t be able to use this facility. Neither will anyone else who has bought one. Siemens tells me the technology in this phone is WAP1, and in the UK this has been superseded by WAP1.1 – which is not backwards compatible.
A pretty blatant mistruth then from Mr Branson’s team, and one that I find very disappointing.
