Eve Pollard’s Parkhill Publishing is to lose its ad director Jane Sproul.

Sproul resigned from her post at the fledgling publishing company in the same week that news broke of the impending departure of Deidre Vine, editor of newly-launched women’s glossy magazine Aura.

Part of the founding team at Parkhill, Sproul joined the company a year ago from Associated Newspapers.

A statement issued by Parkhill says: “While accustomed to long hours, (Sproul) feels the workload involved in a continuous programme of new magazine launches is unfair to her and her family”.

Pollard, chairman and editorial director of Parkhill, says: “Jane Sproul has done a tremendous job getting Aura and Wedding Day off the ground.”

As ad director, Sproul was responsible for the two titles so far launched by Parkhill.

Wedding Day hit the newsstands at the beginning of the month, with a print run of about 200,000.

Fiona Davidson, Parkhill group advertising director, is to take over Sproul’s responsibilities for ad sales on both Aura and Wedding Day.
