IPC Magazines is resurrecting women’s magazine Nova in a &£3.3m marketing and advertising campaign. The magazine, which hits the newsstands on Thursday (May 4), will be supported by a TV ad campaign which breaks this week on Channel 4 and BSkyB.

The ad is directed by award-winning creative Graham Fink, commercials director at the Paul Weiland Film Company. It features a group of young people throwing eggs at each another. Rita Lewis, publishing director at IPC Southbank, says: “It’s just very, very playful and funny, and completely captures the spirit of the magazine. You wouldn’t expect a fashion magazine to advertise itself with people throwing eggs at one another.”

The contemporary fashion magazine, which was first launched in the Sixties, is aimed at a cross-section of 18- to 35-year-old women. The first issue will be priced at &£1.50 and feature interviews with the artist Tracey Emin and singer Vanessa Paradis. Later editions will be priced at &£2.60.
