Cheese maker Bel UK hires Kimberly-Clark executive

Cheese manufacturer Bel UK has appointed Rosemarie Tapp as its first marketing director.

Tapp was previously a marketing manager at toilet and facial tissue manufacturer Kimberly-Clark, which owns brands Andrex and Kleenex.

She takes charge of Bel’s brands, including the Babybel Cheese Range, Laughing Cow Cheese Spread, Cheez Dippers and Port Salut cheese.

Tapp will report to chief executive Olivier De Rocca Serra.

She will be responsible for strengthening Bel’s position in the cheese snacks sector.

TBWA GGT Simons Palmer handles the flagship Laughing Cow account, which traditionally concentrates on TV advertising.

MediaVest picked up the Laughing Cow media business in November last year after the account was moved out of Carat. Media for other brands, including Babybel and Port Salut, is handled by Mediapolis.

Tapp was not available for comment. It is not known whether she will call a review of Bel’s agencies.
