Kippin resurfaces at Condé Nast with new launch brief

Simon Kippin, who quit his role as publishing director of National Magazine Company’s Good Housekeeping a year ago, has re-emerged at rival publishers Condé Nast, working on one of six potential new product launches.

At one time tipped as a future successor to NatMags managing director Terry Mansfield, Kippin is working as a consultant for Condé Nast.

He is thought to be looking at a launch into the women’s middle market which could include the introduction of US magazines Glamour or Allure to the UK.

Referring to projects spanning women’s, men’s and also general interest titles, Condé Nast managing director Nicholas Coleridge says: “We are looking at six different products and he [Kippin] has been helping with one.

“He is extremely experienced in that middle market. We are looking at a whole range of things, some of which are new ideas and some of which are from the US.”

NatMags has also lost House Beautiful publishing director Jamie Bill to its rival; he will take over as publisher of Condé Nast Traveller from Debbie Gresty, who is to retire at the end of July.
