Tennent’s chief joins e-comsport as sales and marketing director

Gordon Brown, former brands director for Tennent’s lager, has been made sales and marketing director of e-comsport.

Brown left the Bass-owned brand last month after 14 years with the brewer. As director of the Tennent’s brand he was responsible for Tennent’s lager, Tennent’s Velvet, and Tennent’s Pilsner as well as sponsorship deals such as T in the Park and the Tennent’s Scottish Cup. His role is being filled temporarily by his assistant Sandra Mitchell until a replacement is found.

Brown’s role at e-comsport will be to develop its range of sports media products and services.

The company was launched last year to provide a range of football and golf-related information services.

Its products include e-comscout, a database of top players aimed at professional football managers. It is preparing to launch golfism.net, an online golf information service, and a fans version of e-comscout.

Alan Montgomery, chief executive of e-comsport, says: “Gordon’s experience and knowledge in building brand values and corporate relationships will be crucial in our development plans both in the UK and internationally.”
