CSA to hire team for six-sheet cinema sites

Cinema advertising company Carlton Screen Advertising (CSA) is understood to be developing new six-sheet poster sites located inside cinema foyers. It has approached senior sales personnel from outdoor contractors to run the business.

CSA marketing director Nicola Young declined to comment on the decision.

CSA, which was formerly known as Rank, “mulled-over” the idea of working with an existing contractor to sell the advertising, but has decided to run the sales in-house. A senior member of Mills & Allen’s sales team has been approached, but has declined the job offer.

This is not the first time CSA has diversified from its traditional core business of screen advertising. The company also offers advertisers the opportunity to screen their 48-sheet poster campaigns on cinema screens.

CSA, which controls 75 per cent of the UK market, announced last week that it has bought Screenvision, the largest cinema advertising company in the US, for &£62m.

The company plans to offer advertisers cinema sales packages across the UK and US, and is understood to be installing a team to sell the package.
