Failing to make a splash in MW

To increase sales is a marketing achievement. To increase sales abroad, particularly in the face of current exchange rates, is a great marketing achievement.

To increase and sustain sales abroad, to a level outstanding for the business and the industry sector, is the pinnacle of marketing excellence.

Each year, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the corporate equivalent of a knighthood for export achievement, recognises UK companies which reach this pinnacle.

The marketing services sector is rarely represented in the list but this year two agencies were honoured.

Given that you regularly report on best practice and have in the past championed the role of the marketer in the boardroom, I would be most interested to know why the story did not even make a blip on your radar screen?
