I write in response to Mark Griffiths’ letter (MW May 18).

In digital television, multi-channel listings are a problem. The electronic programme guide and the increased number of channels mean platform operators are looking at less demand for paper listings and higher costs for producing them. That is not a great equation.

Scaling them down is an issue for targeted premium services such as FilmFour.

Are we aware of the problem? Yes. We anticipated it as long as ten months ago when we launched our dedicated, 52-page FilmFour listings guide: a high-quality magazine with full listings, reviews, features and competitions, mailed bi-monthly and free of charge as part of the £5.99 subscription.

This month’s cover story is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – resurrected by FilmFour from years of censorship hell.

The magazine is unique in the pay-TV market and we’ll make sure that from now on Griffiths gets his copy.
