LDV poaches Rover Cars boss for newly-created head marketer role

European specialist van manufacturer LDV has appointed Steve Miller to the newly-created position of marketing director.

Miller will join from Rover Cars, where he is strategy and communications director.

He will report to LDV executive director of sales and marketing Tony Lewis. Lewis says: “LDV’s brand awareness is increasing every month. The new position will ensure that this success continues globally.”

Miller will manage the strategic development of the LDV brand, with particular emphasis on preparing for the launch of a van range next year.

He will be in charge of a team of ten and have responsibility for the company’s global communications.

LDV has a &£1.5m UK media spend through TBWA GGT Simons Palmer and Manning Gottlieb Media.

The company markets three van ranges: the Cub, Pilot and Convoy. Its TV advertising campaign features a day in the life of a white van driver.

Miller will be based at LDV’s head office in Birmingham.
