Renault to sponsor Telegraph extreme sports supplement

The Telegraph has tied up a deal with Renault to produce an extreme sports supplement called Supersports.

The tabloid supplement will appear inside the newspaper on July 25.

Free copies will also be distributed to spectators at the Newquay Surf Festival, which is being sponsored by The Telegraph, from July 28 to August 6.

The newspaper hopes to forge closer links with younger readers by exploiting the popularity of extreme sports.

Renault is the main sponsor of Supersports, which will feature editorial on sports such grass skiing, paragliding and surfing.

The supplement will be branded throughout with Renault’s logo and will include an advertorial on the youth-oriented Renault Scenic RX4.

Renault’s media agency Optimedia worked alongside the company to tie up the deal with The Telegraph’s commercial development department.

Telegraph display advertisement director Chris White-Smith says: “Renault has acknowledged our growing youth appeal by making it an integral part of the RX4 launch campaign.

“We and Renault, have put together a package that targets this elusive audience in the right environment, in the right way.”
