Sleeping on the job for charity

If you happen to be passing Finsbury Square on the evening of September 22 you may be forgiven for thinking the dot-com crash has hit harder than previously thought: the square will be full of IT professionals in their sleeping bags.

But rest assured, the techies will be sleeping rough for one night only – Byte Night, the IT industry’s contribution to tackling homelessness among UK youth through the charity NCH Action for Children.

To date, 110 IT executives have signed up for the event but the aim is for 150 executives to raise &£250,000. So if your IT client or IT manager isn’t involved, give them a prod towards Finsbury Square.

They’ll be sharing blankets with the likes of Microsoft managing director Neil Holloway and European sales and market ing director of Samsung Trevor Duplock.
