Yeo Valley hires former Sainsbury’s executive as first marketing chief

Dairy product manufacturer Yeo Valley Organic has appointed Ben Cull, previously head of marketing for the Wall’s bacon and sausage range and Mattessons meat range at Kerry Foods, as its first marketing director.

Cull, a former marketer at Sainsbury’s and Northern Foods, will oversee the company’s first advertising campaign and impending product launches.

Last week, ad agency Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners was hired to handle the £2m creative account.

Yeo Valley managing director Graham Keating, who worked alongside Cull at Northern Foods, says: “We want to maintain our progress and believe the time is right to strengthen our management team with a marketing specialist.”

He adds: “His [Cull’s] first job will be to co-ordinate our next launches and entry into advertising, which we hope will ensure that this time next year, more people than ever will be choosing our products.”

The ad campaign is to launch this winter and is understood to include above- and below-the-line advertising.

It is understood that Delaney Lund pitched against Da Costa & Company and one other agency.

Yeo Valley Organic is a private company set up in 1996. Its range includes yogurts, cream, crème fra”che and butter.
