IPC Media has appointed Procter & Gamble marketer Helen Farquhar as strategic marketing director for IPC Southbank.

IPC Media has appointed Procter & Gamble marketer Helen Farquhar as strategic marketing director for IPC Southbank.

Farquhar joins on October 2 from P&G, where she is European brand manager for the Vidal Sassoon range.

The appointment is the latest in a series of positions to be announced by IPC group marketing director Philippa Brown.

It follows the appointment of Vijay Solanki, who joined IPC Music & Sport as marketing director from Capital Radio.

Brown says: “Farquhar’s experience will be invaluable in developing a first-class marketing operation.”

Magazines, such as Woman’s Journal and Living, are based within IPC Southbank, a subsidiary of IPC Media.

Farquhar joins the IPC Southbank board and will report to Tim Brooks, former executive director of EMAP Digital, who will replace Colin Reeves-Smith as managing director of the company when he retires at the end of October.

Farquhar says: “I have always been drawn to the media industry and my new role is exciting when you think of the endless opportunities available for these brands.”

Currently based at P&G’s headquarters in Geneva, Farquhar has held many positions with P&G and spent more than two years working on Pantene Pro-V.
