Renault to offer used cars online

Car company Renault is to launch a used-vehicle locator on the Internet, called Renault To Go Online.

The new service, available through Renault-to-go.co.uk, allows customers to search for a used Renault car, reserve it and nominate a preferred Renault dealer to test drive it.

Renault manager of Internet marketing Sandra Leonhard says: “We guarantee to have the car delivered to the dealership within five days.”

The new initiative is being backed by a &£3m press and radio ad campaign created by Publicis.

Renault To Go Online has been launched only in the UK at this stage, but the company plans to launch something similar in other markets.

Ex-rental, lease and ex-Renault company cars are supplied directly from the manufacturer. All vehicles have an average age of ten months.

In the past, Renault customers had to go to a dealer to check the used-vehicle locator with a sales person. Now they can access the list through the Internet.

The company aims to sell 8,000 used cars through Renault To Go this year and claims this will increase to 12,000 by the end of next year.
