Cost selling ban is still in place

George Pitcher asserts in his article (MW September 14) that the Republic of Ireland has recently lifted the ban on below cost-price sales in, he suggests, a bid to cool the economy.

The Groceries Order, or the ban on below cost selling, as it is more commonly known is in fact still in place. It has been subject to review by the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment, but to date Mary Harney, Taniste and Minister have not made any decision regarding this matter.
