Delaney Lund wins £2m Internet incubator task

Delaney Lund Knox Warren has won the creative account for Internet incubator Gorilla Park. The agency has also been appointed to a roster of agencies which will work for the Gorilla Park’s clients with potential billings worth up to £10m.

Delaney Lund’s e-brands division was chosen to devise a marketing campaign, worth up to £2m, for Gorilla Park after beating an unnamed agency in a final two-way pitch. The company previously used a Dutch agency.

Gorilla Park was established in 1999 by Internet expert Jerome Mol to offer seed capital and business advice to new media start-ups.

UK marketing director Claire Harrold, who oversaw the pitch, says Delaney Lund will also create on- and offline work for its associated companies. The work for both Gorilla Park and its clients will initially run in the UK, and it may be extended to European markets. The company is seeking to appoint a media-buying and planning agency.

The roster of agencies Gorilla Park has drawn up for its clients includes Delaney Lund, Davies Little Cowley Fiddes, Conquest, Primary Response, Myrtle and Stewart Fenn. Preferred digital agencies include Xoo, Amicus and Zinc/ZnSpace.

Gorilla Park recently attracted £13m backing from Cable & Wireless and lists investment banks Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and ABN Amro among its investors.

Gorilla Park hopes to have signed up at least 25 start-ups by the end of the year.
