KFC hires agency to develop online brand

Fast-food chain KFC has appointed Good Technology to develop its first official UK and Ireland website.

Chosen after a five-way pitch, Good Technology says it will be working as a “key part of the marketing effort to bring the KFC brand alive online.”

The site is due to launch in the fourth quarter of this year. It will focus on building relationships with consumers through customised content for families and young adults.

KFC marketing director John Prior says: “The Internet has become an integral part of marketing and can be a powerful tool in reaching consumers. Our new website will provide a more interactive communication channel with our customers.”

Good Technology was chosen, he adds, because “it demonstrated a thorough understanding of our business”. Good Technology commercial director Phil Gerrard says: “Given the significance and heritage of the KFC brand, this project is an important addition to our portfolio.”
