Centrica, the energy and services group, has appointed Clare Salmon as new marketing director for its Home and Road Services businesses.
Salmon will assume responsibility for marketing the AA’s roadside assistance, which covers more than 9 million motorists, and British Gas’ home service, the installer and servicing company for domestic central heating systems and a range of home services products.
She says: “I will be building both brands by creating new customer propositions.”
Salmon replaces Jamie Buchan, who left in May to join the Whitbread Beer Company as sales and marketing director.
She was previously responsible for launching an Internet business portfolio for e-commerce venture Transacsys. She joined Transacsys in April this year but left last month, when the company decided to pull back from further website development.
More than 3 million homes are protected with British Gas Service Cover – which now includes options for central heating breakdown, electrical appliance repair and plumbing and drains cover.
