We should all thank Matthew Hooper of Interfocus for bringing some colour to the sales promotion/direct industry and sticking his head above the parapet to be profiled by David Benady (MW September 14).

We should all thank David for bringing some colour to Marketing Week readers in his, in parts, light-hearted profile of Matthew Hooper.

They are both a tonic to an industry and a marketing title which can sometimes take itself a little bit too seriously.

I look forward to the debate in the letter section continuing so that Matthew gets even more profile for his industry before he takes up the chairmanship of the Sales Promotion Consultants Association.
