Team Saatchi faces £4m Britannic review

Britannic Assurance is reviewing its £4m TV and poster advertising account, held by Team Saatchi.

The Birmingham-based home-service insurance company first appointed Team Saatchi two years ago to create its first TV campaign.

A spokesman for Team Saatchi says the agency is aware of the review but that it is part of a wider appraisal of all Britannic suppliers. It is not clear whether this review also includes media buying.

The review is likely to be conducted by sales and marketing director Bill Haynes, although no one at the company was available for comment as Marketing Week went to press.

Britannic Assurance decided to move into TV advertising and appointed Team Saatchi in response to increased competition from supermarket chains, such as Tesco, entering the financial services sector.

But last year, a proportion of the budget was switched to posters, following a successful test campaign in the Central TV region through outdoor contractor Mills & Allen.

All advertising carries the recently launched corporate identity, which features two swans designed to represent a lifelong partnership.
